Feneos is an area named after a small village, which inherited the name of ancient Pheneus. It is in the region of Corinth, on Mt. Ziria (known also as Kyllini). The best place to go in Feneos is the artificial Lake Doxa.
It is very accessible from Athens, and you can do it as a day trip. Of course if you can stay near Kiato – thanks to our good friends Antonis and Christina who had us for the weekend – and go up the mountain road from there, it’s even better.
We had a great time walking around the lake, exploring with the kids as we went. The scenery was fantastic, and there was still much snow on the top of Ziria.
